There's lots to go out and see this October. The Port Credit BIA is having their first Trick or Treat event and strategically planned it around the Clarkson BIA's Halloween In the Village event. I've planned TWO Official Meet Up with parents & tots, you can dress up like zombies during the Cultural Walking Tours, and walk the streets and parks in the neighbourhoods- there's so much to do! Check out the at-a-glance Calendar on our Community Facebook Page to view more events.

1. Parent & Tot Picnics

It may be a bit chillier outside but that doesn't keep our kids from wanting to go outside- at least, not my kid! I have arranged two events for parents and kids called Eat & Play. The first one is on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 12PM and the second is on Friday, October 6 at 11AM. Just bring a shareable snack and your own beverage. Meet at Memorial Park (Park at 20 Lakeshore Rd. East). Invite other parents to come as well! If you're unable to click the event link above, just visit the "Events" section of the Port Credit, Clarkson, Lakeview & Lorne Park Community Facebook page.

2. Trick or Treat during Halloween In The Village 2017

On Saturday, October 28th from 10am to 2pm, Clarkson Village businesses will be giving out candies to "trick or treat" children. Visit the Clarkson BIA Facebook page for more information.

3. Treats In Our East in Port Credit

On Saturday October 28th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Port Credit will be celebrating Halloween at their first annual trick-or-treating event! Families are welcomed by Port Credit businesses to trick-or-treat in costume throughout the East Village (Hurontario St east to Seneca Ave.), collecting goodies at various businesses. Visit the Event listing for more information on participating locations.

4. Dress up like a Zombie on the Cultural Walking Tours

On Saturday, October 28, dress up and join the living dead for our first Port Credit BIA "Zombie Walk". Meet at LaVilla Bakery and Cafe at 7PM (331 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5G 1H4)

5. Window Shopping along Port Credit's main street, Lakeshore Rd.

There is a wide variety of unique and intriguing stores starting from Lakeshore and Mississauga Rd. extending East past Lakeshore and Hurontario. It's nice to just go for a stroll and see what trendy or one-of-a-kind items you can spot. For a list of the stores, visit www.portcredit.com. 6. Spring Cleaning? What about Fall Cleaning?

I don't know about you abut doing a nice, deep clean makes me very happy. Join Port Credit Freecycle (this group includes all South Mississauga neighbourhoods, not just Port Credit) and purge your home. Keep reusable items out of the landfills and allow someone in the neighbourhood to make use of your items that you no longer use. I stand by the saying that one man's trash is another man's treasure. And who doesn't love treasure? 7. Explore Rattray Marsh

This conservation park just got newly renovated boardwalks (660 Bexhill Rd). Take advantage of the last remaining lakefront marsh, take photographs, bird watch and take in nature! 8. Volunteer with the Legion

The Port Credit Legion needs Poppy Volunteers to drop off/ pick up boxes and tag at different locations (from October 27- November 11, 2017). Only one hour or more of your time is needed! If interested, please go to the Port Credit Legion Branch #82 at 35 Front Street N., Mississauga, ON to sign up.

9. Go for a Community Trash Walk

Join Trash Walking Moms for a leisurely stroll through Richard's Memorial Park (804 Lakeshore Rd East) on October 21, 2017. Click here for event details and updates. 10. Visit the Benares Historic House for their Service and Remembrance: 150 Years of the Lorne Scots Regiment

This traveling exhibition was created by PAMA and Halton Heritage Services. It's in partnership with the Lorne Scots Regimental Museum, and the Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment). The exhibition runs September 16 - November 19. Be sure to check out the official event link to see exact date and times. 1507 Clarkson Rd N, Mississauga, ON L5J 2W8. For more free events and to see an at-a-glance Calendar of all the neighbourhoods, please click this link here. Please message me about any missing events or add it to the Community Facebook Wall!
